March for Life Walk, baby shower & refreshments at Immanuel Lutheran
Saturday, January 19, 2019 beginning at noon starting at the Church
Immanuel Lutheran invites you and yours who support the unborn right to life to attend our local March for Life Walk, baby shower and refreshments at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 North Church Street, Bridgman, Michigan. Please share this information with others who feel the same. If you would like to do more to help, please call Immanuel Lutheran and let them know 269-465-6031.
Every January the national March for Life takes place in Washington D.C., thousands will be in attendance. This year it happens on Friday, January 18, 2019. If you can’t travel to D.C. this is a personal opportunity for you and yours to take some spirit-led action at the local level that may very well provide the opportunity to save future lives in our community.
You can walk, donate baby shower type gifts, or give a monetary donation, all of which will go to the LifePlan Organization. LifePlan is a local successful pregnancy care center, formerly known as the Pregnancy Care Center in Niles, now LifePlan, is in the process of opening a sister facility in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Every year thousands of innocent unborn babies are aborted.
More than 60 million innocents have died since Roe vs. Wade.
Jesus told us, His disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Immanuel Lutheran Church is our mission to share God’s Grace with the world.
How Can I Serve?
It begins in our own community and spreads overseas to every nation. Immanuel members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as greeting on Sundays at the church, to preparing the church bulletins and PowerPoint slides.
Immanuel is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We also pray and support Groundwork Ministries in Guatemala and Lutheran Bible Translators in Botswana, Africa.
Music & Audio-Visual Arts
We strive for God-honoring worship. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments; some are vocalists; others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in audio-visual. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of Immanuel Lutheran Church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God. Please contact us if you are interested in being a part of our worship arts team.
Ushers/Greeters/Complimenters and Communion Assistants
The usher/greeter/complimenter team at Immanuel fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, and offering warm compliments to members and visitors. The usher/greeter/complimenter team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.
Elders and other trained men assist the pastor in the distribution of the Lord’s Supper. On the first Sunday of the month, our communion assistants take the consecrated elements to our home bound and nursing home members as a compassionate extension of our worship service.
Media & Technology
Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Immanuel Lutheran Church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as effectively as possible for kingdom purposes. We also maintain an active Facebook for additional church communication. We are always looking for the right person to assist Immanuel in the media arts and to help us effectively communicate the Grace of Almighty God.
Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Immanuel Lutheran Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer. Each Sunday, before the morning service, a team of volunteers prays for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers, who we call “Prayer Warriors,” pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Please consider joining our Prayer Warrior team.
Children’s Sunday School
Help us give our children the best Bible teaching possible. Immanuel offers a children’s Sunday School at 9:30 A.M. We use Concordia and other curriculum materials. We are also prepared to partner with families and offer parenting resources via email.
Vacation Bible School
Offered at various times in the summer months, Vacation Bible School is a great opportunity for you to volunteer your talents while also ensuring that your child continues to grow in Jesus Christ. Call the church office at 269.465.6031, extension 2 or at firstname.lastname@example.org for information about our summer plans.
Meet Other Believers.
In addition to our Sunday worship and volunteer opportunities, we offer other ways for you to be a part of a caring group of believers.
With seven or eight groups meeting to study the Bible, we are sure that there is a small group meeting that would fit your busy schedule.
Women’s Group LWL
Immanuel Lutheran Women’s League meets on Mondays from September through May. Our interesting speakers and exciting mission projects keep everyone focused on Jesus and His love for all.
Many of Immanuel’s “seasoned” members enjoy playing Bridge and other card games. Bus trips and outings are also being planned.
Join a spirited game of floor hockey in our college-sized gymnasium. You will find us there most Sunday afternoons.
Life Center Multipurpose Room
Our highly functional multipurpose room, complete with a stage, can be used by community groups. Why not introduce your group to an environment focused on Jesus Christ?
