How Can I Serve?

It begins in our own community and spreads overseas to every nation. Immanuel members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as greeting on Sundays at the church, to preparing the church bulletins and PowerPoint slides.

Life Team
An exciting Immanuel Ministry - Life Team works on life issues from conception to end of life. We work closely with LifePlan of Niles and Benton Harbor. LifePlan is a Christ-centered organization that provides services to women may be considering abortion. They offer other options, but first and most importantly they offer the gospel and love of Jesus Christ to women and families in need. For more info on LifePlan click here.

Outreach
Immanuel is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom. Our Outreach team works on ways to spread the Gospel to people in our community and abroad. From supporting local events such as city festivals and events to hosting Family Movie Nights, we are always looking for ways to involve people from all walks of life. Won't you consider joining our group in spreading the "Good News".

Music & Audio-Visual Arts
We strive for God-honoring worship. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments; some are vocalists; others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in audio-visual. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of Immanuel Lutheran Church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God. Please contact us if you are interested in being a part of our worship arts team.
Media & Technology
Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Immanuel Lutheran Church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as effectively as possible for kingdom purposes. We also maintain an active Facebook for additional church communication. We are always looking for people of all ages to assist Immanuel in the media arts and to help us effectively communicate the Grace of Almighty God.
Ushers/Greeters/Complimenters and Communion Assistants
The usher/greeter/complimenter team at Immanuel fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, and offering warm compliments to members and visitors. The usher/greeter/complimenter team is a servant-hearted group of men, women and families whose ministry is integral to church life.
Elders
Elders and other trained men assist the pastor in the distribution of the Lord’s Supper. On the first, third and fifth Sundays of the month, our communion assistants will take the consecrated elements to our home bound and nursing home members upon request, as a compassionate extension of our worship service. If you would like a visit or communion, please contact the church office at 269-465-6031.

Prayer Warriors
Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Immanuel Lutheran Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer. Each Sunday, before the morning service, a team of volunteers prays for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers, who we call “Prayer Warriors,” pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Please consider joining our Prayer Warrior team.
