In designing our preschool/primary program, we rely on brain research showing that there are critical periods of skill training in a young child’s mind, called windows of opportunity for learning.
The learning years for opening these windows are typically between birth and age 10; windows not opened during these critical periods are difficult to open later in life. To build these skills, we use the research-based and child focused HighScope® curriculum that encourages active, participatory learning to achieve powerful, positive outcomes. For reading readiness, we use the Open Court® Reading Program that has successfully taught children to read for over 50 years. Children participating in our Early Learners preschool program will be well-prepared to progress to successive levels of skill training; children in our Skill Builders program will be ready for the ever-increasing expectations of kindergarten.

If so, your child (or children) can participate in the preschool programs we offer.
Get started by completing the Private Pay Preschool Registration Forms and submitting them at our church office at 9650 Church Street in Bridgman, MI 49106.
Great Start Readiness Preschool (GSRP)
The Immanuel Early Childhood Development Center is the Great Start Readiness Program site for Bridgman, in partnership with the Berrien County Regional Educational Service Agency and Bridgman Public Schools. We offer a full day program, from 8 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. Monday through Thursday. We have slots available for sixteen children.
The Great Start Readiness Preschool Program is a free preschool program for eligible children who are four years old by September 1 in communities throughout Berrien County. The eligibility guidelines are set by the State of Michigan and include income verification and documentation of other school success risk factors.
If eligible, your child will have the opportunity to experience gross motor and fine motor activities, enhance socialization skills through play and language, explore their world and participate in both teacher and child-directed learning experiences.
